Grab a Shovel, Pick A Spot, Plant a Tree, It's Tu Bishvat!

To surprise Mommy, and to commemorate the yahrtzeit of her beloved Zaydie, Eden celebrated Tu Bishvat with Daddy & Maya by starting an annual Latrell tradition of planting a tree in Rabbi Bill's memory.
The day began with Eden selelcting the finest spruce specimen in three states.
And next: the hole.
A little soil out...
...a little soil back in...
...some dirt and rocks for the bucket...and eventually the train got to where it was going.
Eden kept us motivated by reminding us what a good job she was doing.
Not only endowed with incredible gardening prowess, Eden also displays some considerable skill behind the camera lens (witness above pic)!
Here Eden momentarily commandeers the hose to use for her mud pies; a project only slightly less important than the task at hand.
The dogs really appreciated her using their water dish for the mud pies.
A little more water for Mr. Tree, and...
"Tah-Dah!"
The local Cactus Wren scoped out our work. He seemed to approve.
Happy Tu Bishvat, Everyone!
We love you, Tatty!
