It actually snowed (yes, snowed) in Las Vegas over the weekend, and although the accumulation was non-existent, it was the most holiday-like weather we've encountered since we've been here. What better time then to take a trip down memory lane and revisit Chanukah 2005? Hannah sent us a beautiful menorah, a menorah that when fully lit would seem at home on top of Beethoven's piano or lighting Bela Lugosi's castle. The larger than normal candles brough us dangeroulsy close to violating local fire codes, but nonetheless filled our apartment with festive lights. Controversey arose when Melissa objected to my method of gify delivery. Mom had left us a bevy of presents under the bed when she visited for Thanksgiving. In the spirit of the season, I insisted that we open one or two per night to keep the good cheer going all eight nights. Melissa wanted them all and she wanted them now. She accused me of hoarding the goodies. But alas, I knew my method proved to be the best choice when on the last night after Chanukah, Melissa longed to have more presents to open. Indeed.
Thanks Mom, Drew, and Hannah for making our eight nights truly crazy and special.
